Summer was in full stride in Yuma and it was all any one could do to survive the blistering heat. It caused most people to spend the peak hours of the day being sedentary venturing out during the late hours of the day when the sun had set. The heat was still there but no where near as bad. It was an unfortunate side of life but one that had to be taken in stride if a person was expected to have any sort of social life.
This was not to say that there were those who attempted to have a social life even during the hottest hours of the day. Such was the case of Nick Grime and Marshal Coomings.
